  • What gets me are those people who support a certain Presidential-hopeful candidate, who, when their Chosen backs out of the race, grab their ball and go home to pout.  A friend of mine is acting this way.  He thinks that since his Chosen has bowed out of the race, he just won't vote so that the opposite party's candidate will win the election and the resulting 4 years of chaos will cause the American people will see what idiots they were to not vote for his Chosen.  Well, go ahead!  Silence your one single chance to vote these next 4 years, nurse your hurt pride, and stew in your bitterness!   I, on the other hand,  will continue to vote for my party's nominated candidate (EVEN though it's not my Chosen) with the intent of doing what I can to get someone into Presidential office that more closely resembles my ideology than the opposing party's candidate.  So he's not my first or second choice - big wup!  At least he's closer to the right side of the fence than anyone in the other party!  Hello, People!  It's a battle between good and evil, right and wrong!  WAKE UP!!!

We've finally developed the last 5 rolls of pictures!  They contain pictures from January through July 2007.  I've uploaded a bunch of them, particularly camping in July and Civil War in April.  Check them out!

We've narrowed down our search for a digital camera to three:
    Canon Powershot A720 IS (point-n-shoot)
    Canon Powershot S3 IS (point-n-shoot)
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (dSLR)

Now to go to a store where we can look at all of them at the same time...

Sometimes things just happen.  Sometimes I just ignore the fact that things are happening... like the fact that I haven't updated this blog for a month and a half.  So, let me explain - no, let me sum up.  I didn't shoot a deer this year, I ate too much on Thanksgiving (but had fun doing it), I sang Christmas songs in a quintet at a cute little German festival in Excelsior, I've changed companies (still doing the same kind of work, so I can't say I changed jobs), and I love my wife even more than ever!  Short and sweet, ain't it?

    See ya' later...

  •         Tomorrow, Elizabeth is 19 weeks pregnant.  That is almost exactly halfway through her pregnancy (20 weeks wins that distinction, but I don't really want to wait that long before I post this blog).  We went to Cambridge Medical Center for her ultrasound this afternoon, and while we were there we found out that we are having a BOY!  Joseph David Watkins is expected to arrive between Feb. 21 and March 7!

Interestingly, February 21 is the same birthdate as Joseph's cousin Caralynn (who's 3, almost 4), and March 8 is Joseph's Uncle Mark's birthday!  And, get this, 2008 is a leap year, and if we take and divide this two week span of possible birthday's into two parts, February 29th is right smack in the middle!  God has a sense of humor!  Wouldn't it be wacky if Joseph was born on the leapday?  He would have a birthday every 4 years (he'd be the biggest 5 year-old in MN)!

Here are the first of many pictures of Joseph.  At this time, he is about 14 oz. in weight  Pic 1 is of him looking at you - you can clearly define his eyes, nose, and mouth!

    Ultrasound 2

Pic 2 is the right profile of Joseph - notice his tiny arm/hand and his leg/foot!  "I am fearfully and wonderfully made!  Marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well!"Ultrasound 1

The next pictures of him that will be posted here will be when he is born, only 21 weeks away!

  • I have stuff to post, but it would be greatly enhanced with pictures!  But alas, I don't have a digital camera, and don't have money to get my other film developed!  How fun is a posting if all you ever see is words without pictures to embellish?  I've decided that for Christmas this year I will purchase a Digital Camera for my wife and I! (clap hands in wild applause here)  Thankyou, thankyou! (raises hands to still thunderous crowd) Please...!  (crowd rushes platform and begins to carry me away) Wait...!
